21世紀に入り相次いで発生した二つの危機――グローバル金融危機と東日本大震災――は日本を含む東アジアに極めて深刻な影響を与えた。それらは日本経済のあり方に反省を迫り、また東アジアの発展構造に強い衝撃を与えている。これら危機の実態とその影響は果してどのようなものなのか、日本を含む東アジアの経済はどのような方向に向かうのだろうか。さらに、こうした動きは中部経済圏にとってどのような影響と意味を持つのだろうか。特に東アジアとの関係が深い企業の行動はどのように変化しどのような課題を持っているのだろうか。 本シンポジウムはこうした課題について、世界の成長の極を形作っている東アジアの産業化の枠組みの中で確認を行う。

Seminar purpose
In the globalized world, East Asian countries should face and cope seriously with the new situation of the world outside. Many Asian countries as well as Korea suffered from the Asian currency crisis. Those countries including Japan have transformed their economic structure in many dimensions especially after the crisis. In such times, two universities, Nagoya University and Koungpook National University hold a joint seminar on ‘Economic and Business Issues in East Asia’, and discuss on them in order to sustain the progress of their economies.
