Seminar (C) outline [subject name : International Economics]
"International Trade in Goods and Factor Mobility" written by Kar-yiu Wong, MIT Press, 1995, is read for acquisition of the theory of international trade. Since this text is the great work with 700 pages, we will read basic theories first, and afterwards the relating topics regarding international trade under imperfect competition, gains from international trade, international labor migration etc. in order. Moreover, we will touch the latest related paper according to these topics.
Depending on students' hopes and levels, I will lecture mathematical analysis and microeconomics in the first half term. In that case, we will use H.R.Varian, Microeconomic Analysis, Third Edition, 1992.
Seminar students those who are interested in empirical sides, such as direct foreign investment, regional economic integration and economic development, on the basis of the theory of international trade, as well as those who are interested in theoretical research of international trade are welcome.
